Carved Stone Column Capital

STONE CARVING, GARDEN

Ornate classical stone carvings on new building

Designed with inspiration from the Temple of the Winds in Greece, this column capital adorns the top of fluted columns on a garden folly building. The full classical order has been developed by our studio and includes a multitude of decorative elements relating to the woodland situation of the garden. The carved column capital itself is decorated with slender fern leaves behind curved beach leaves and small dog rose buttons to the base. All carved in a tight sandstone to get as much detail and shadow into the carvings as possible.
All carvings on the Belvedere garden folly were carried out and installed by the very talented stone masons at AF Jones. To see the full garden structure, find the project profile writing here.
